Agreement has recently been reached with Leeds Golf Centre at Wike Ridge, near Harrogate, for it to become the newly appointed venue for Tiger Cub Tour as the Yorkshire and Humberside Group which will hold its first Regional Qualifying Round in August 2013.
Situated just north of Leeds, a short distance from Wetherby and Harrogate, Leeds Golf Centre is home to Wike Ridge, one of Yorkshire's magnificent 18-hole golf courses. Designed by former English Golf Union President, Donald Steel, the challenging Wike Ridge golf course is set in glorious heathland, and consists of two nine hole loops of magnificent rolling countryside, constructed to USGA specification.
In addition, Leeds Golf Centre houses the Oaks, a first class par 3 short course, and also features an advanced swing studio and teaching academy, a floodlit driving range, all complimented by a well stocked professional's shop and a vibrant club house facility.

The Tiger Cub Tour will shortly be announcing even more new and exciting venues which will play host to its Regional Qualifying Rounds in the 2013 season.

The Tiger Cub Tour comprises a number of junior open golf tournaments played over 36 holes, open to boys and girls who are under the age of 12 years on the 1st January in the year of the competition.
The first of which will be held in the North of England, commencing Monday, the 4th June, at the South Moor Golf Club, County Durham, which played host to the McGregor Trophy in 2011.

The South East Group is the second of the regions to confirm its committment
the 2012 Tiger Cub Tour.
The initiative is supported by Paul Lyons, the Head Professional at
the Sussex Golf College and Lindfield Golf Club, which is located
near to Haywards Heath in West Sussex.

The Midland Group is the latest region to confirm its commitment to the Tiger Cub Tour. Thanks to the generosity of its Managing Director, Will Weaver. the Worfield Golf Club, in Shropshire, has agreed to act as host for the Midland Regional Qualifying event in August, 2012.

Scotland has now confirmed the venue for the Scotland South Group Regional Qualifying Round which will take place at the Whitekirk Golf & Country Club, North Berwick at the start of the Summer school holiday period in July, 2012.
Situated with idyllic views across East Lothian, Whitekirk Golf Club lies approximately two miles from the sea. Designed by Cameron Sinclair it presents an enjoyable challenge to all levels of golfer, and plays regular host to the PGA Mastercard Tour and PGA Europro Tour events.
Club Professional, Paul Wardell, generously agreed to lend the support of the Club for the inaugural Tiger Cub Tour event in Scotland.

The picturesque Newark Golf Club in Nottinghamshire has agreed to host the inaugural National Final of the Tiger Cub Tour in the Autumn half-term school holiday in October, 2012.

The Tiger Cub Tour has pledged its support to the WWF and help protect the future of the world’s largest big cat, by agreeing to ‘adopt a tiger’ at each of its Regional Qualifying Rounds, creating a closer bond link with its chosen species. The World Wildlife Fund, which celebrated its Golden Jubilee year in 2011, is acknowledged as the world’s leading independent conservation body. It is well known for its pioneering work and great achievements in saving and protecting the world’s iconic endangered wildlife and their habitats. |

Tiger Cub Tour founders Roy Case and Sharon Oliver were guests of Lee Westwood at the Retford Town Hall, Nottinghamshire for the official ceremony when the Worksop golfer was admitted as an Honorary Freeman of the District of Bassetlaw. The golfing super-star signed the Freeman’s Declaration and became the first Bassetlaw citizen to have the honour bestowed since the Bassetlaw District Council was created in 1974. |

Although not particularly long, the 18 Hole, par 70 course, measures just over 6100 yards, it is well protected by some tricky green sites. The course hosts some memorable par 3 holes, with the long uphill par 4, 12th rewarding the golfer with some stunning views from the high point of the course.

Momentum for the Tiger Cub Tour is gathering apace as youngsters are returning their entries from around the Country.
" If things continue to progress as anticipated it will be necessary to increase the number of Regional Qualifying tournaments in 2013", said Tournament Organiser Roy Case. " And negotiations are currently taking place with golf clubs which have expressed an interest in hosting Tiger Cub tournaments next year."

The Tiger Cub Junior Open Golf Tournaments is a Golf Concepts initiative.
Golf Concepts is a partnership led up by Roy Case, a former President of the English Golf Union, who has recently retired from the position of Secretary of the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs. He has devoted more than 30 years of his life to the development of junior golf at club, county and national level, and brings a wealth of knowledge.
The Golf-Concepts PGA professional is Shaun Case, BSc [Hons.] Psychology, a Master Professional of the Professional Golfers’ Association of Germany and a respected member of the golfing profession.

The Tiger Cub Tour [Under12] Junior Open Golf Tournaments
The Tiger Cub [Under 12’s] Junior OpenGolf Tournaments will be launched during the Summer of 2012. It is intended to initially organise a total of three events each year, in the Northern; Midland Areas of England and Southern Scotland. With events being added in the South East and the South West in the second year. The events will be open to boys and girls, of all nationalities who are under the age of 12 years on the 1st, January in the year the tournament is played. The tournaments will be played over 36 holes of stroke-play over two consecutive days, 18 holes being played on each day. After the first round there will be a re-draw of all competitors in the second final round, in descending order of scores. The number of competitors will be limited to a total of 90 No. A minimum of 18 No. places in the Tournaments will be reserved for players who are under the age of 10 on the 1st January of the year in which the Tournaments are to be played, and a minimum of number of 12 No. places will be reserved for girls. Should it become necessary to restrict the number of competitors, entrants will be accepted strictly according to their date of entry. Caddies are encouraged, including parents and relatives. The leading 60 No. players from the Tiger Cub Order of Merit will be invited to compete in a National Final to held during the autumn school holidays. 20th November, 2011
